“Jodie is an outstanding individual for many reasons. She is always looking to further her education and knowledge of holistic therapies for animals. Her own great energy and compassion comes through as she works on the animals herself, or works on them along with me.” S.R.D.  DVM Smithfield, RI

boston-rangers“Using the methods she has studied, Jodie works with our horses on a regular basis, improving their behavior and performance in several very important ways. One of our horses finds it very hard to relax, to the point he does not like being touched. I have watched Jodie work with him and have seen a complete turn around with his attitude when she is done. His head is down (sometimes to the ground) and his entire body is relaxed. There is a much better response when riding him after Jodie has had a session with him.” Sgt. Karen Patrick

karen-patrickMy ten year old Quarab gelding Buddy has had his fourth Equine Massage with Jodie. Since we’ve been working with Jodie, Buddy has become a more relaxed and calmer horse. His tension, when he does become anxious, seems to dissipate much quicker . He is no longer a “basketball” horse, meaning he used to get so round that he would bounce like one! He will now stretch down and touch his nose on the ground for me and he is willing to work in a long and low frame. His topline and overall muscle definition are noticeably improved and he is much more comfortable through his poll and back.. Buddy also suffered from Lyme disease during this time and I believe that equine massage in conjunction with his antibiotics and veterinary care helped him overcome the muscle aches and pains caused by the Lyme disease. Buddy is proud of his work and takes his job as a riding horse very seriously and we can’t thank Jodie enough for making Buddy a more comfortable and happier horse. Buddy doesn’t have to be so stoic he can tell Jodie where it hurts and she will help him feel better. Karen Patrick

Barbara

“I was so impressed with your powerful connection with Teddy, and all the animals I observed you interacting with. It was as if I could see/feel the heart connection you made with the animals and be a witness to the love you feel so deeply for them. It seemed as if the animals could sense it immediately and they gave you their trust as soon as you entered their space.  It was a joy for me to meet and experience you Jodie. The Universe has blessed our world with you.” Sending you all good blessings, Barbara

Diana Thompson

diana-thompson“Jodie has shown her ability to connect with the horses on a deep level. She has a lovely healing energy in her hands and a grounded quietness about her manner that helps the horses relax and feel safe. She also pays attention to a horse’s body language in response to a body work method and adapts her methods to their needs. This awareness and ability of adapting to each individual horse is a necessary and wonderful skill for working with  animals.” Diana Thompson Hands On Horse Care

Legacy Stables

legacy-stables“Gladly has always been a particularly tense horse, physically and mentally. After the third session, she began lying down and taking naps for the first time in the two years I have been training her.  Training sessions became calmer and more relaxed, her movement gained fluidity. Her performance and attitude was just all around better.  Many times in the past, her physical restrictions limited her training capacity. This year we were able to get her in peak condition, with no down time, and she was much easier to work with” Mike Murphy and Liz Vaughn Legacy Stables Mendon, MA

Mona Reid

mona-reid-sashaMy horse, Sasha, can be reactive if not approached properly. Jodie’s approach was excellent, soft and confident at the same time. Sasha’s right hind hip slips, causing her right flanks to be tight and the left side of her poll to be sore. Jodie did an outstanding job in helping my horse. After a couple of massages, Sasha was able to motor herself using both hind legs, and the stiff poll was no longer an issue.

horseplayJodie’s work has had an incredibly beneficial impact on several of the horses here at Horse Play. We are an equine rescue/sanctuary in Rhode Island . Many of the horses come to us with loads of old injuries and mental/emotional issues. Jodie has helped Sabio, an 11 year old Mustang who suffered a bout of laminitis and founder. At the time, he was still fairly wild. He responded wonderfully to her, and her work with him helped him to fully recover. She also worked with Buddy, a 7 year old gelding who was re-claimed by Horse Play. His adoptive home was no longer caring for him. He returned here starved and showing signs of abuse. Jodie worked with him, helping him to regain his trust in people as well as his herd-mates. Most recently she has been helping Caly, a 17 yr old Morgan mare with an old tendon injury to her left hind leg as well as some issues with head shyness and trust. After each session, the horses are more relaxed, calmer, soft and inquisitive, plus the results last! Each horse relates better to both horses and humans, responding to cues much more easily, and just they seem happier about life in general! All the horses here love her and gather around her when she comes out for a visit. I highly recommend her and am so happy to have her as a member of our Horse Play family!
